This custom residence was designed for a steep, heavily wooded site that for years had been considered unbuildable and as a result was one of the last available lots in this desirable neighborhood.
The proposed design uses a switchback driveway to descend from the road to the house where a small grassy front yard is carved out of the forest. From the front, the house looks fairly modest. Around back, though, it opens up to the scenic ravine and woods.
A large deck and a porch below offer ample outdoor living space. Five bedrooms, two large living areas, and a home office fill out the 5,000 square foot area.
